Spay Day 2009 Online Pet Photo Contest

How to Enter
No donation, purchase, or obligation of any kind is necessary to win the Judged category of the The Humane Society of the United States’ (HSUS) and Humane Society International’s Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest, sponsored by IDEXX Laboratories, Petplan Pet Insurance, Zootoo.com Shelter Make-over, and Pet Pals: New Leash on Life by Legacy Interactive online. A donation or purchase will not increase your chances of winning the Judged category. To win the Fundraisers category a minimum of 100 votes (or $100 in donations made in your pet’s name to the charity you designate during the contest entry process) is necessary.

To enter the Contest, follow the steps at http://photocontest.humanesociety.org. These steps ask you to supply certain information about your pet and about yourself, and then upload your photograph. The requested information includes brief responses to questions about your pet. To be accepted into the Contest, you must provide all requested information.

Submitted images and written responses must be the original creations of the entrant. By entering the contest, the entrant warrants that the photograph and description submitted are original, that they are the sole owner and copyright holder of that photograph and description, and that they have not granted exclusive rights of that photograph or description to any other person or entity. The entrant also warrants that the photograph does not invade the right of privacy of any individual; does not infringe any trademark, trade name, trade secret, intellectual property right, or other common law or statutory right; nor does it contain any material that otherwise violates any criminal prohibition or the personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.

Written descriptions must be in English. The HSUS reserves the right to reject any Contest submission if it does not meet the eligibility requirements described later in these Rules, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. If your entry is rejected, it will be removed from the Contest website and we will notify you via automated email.

You must complete a separate registration for every photograph you wish to enter. Keep in mind that you cannot combine votes from separate photos/entries. You must use the process described at http://photocontest.humanesociety.org to enter the Contest. We’re sorry, but we will discard any photographs that are emailed to us or sent to us via the U.S. Mail. Once submitted, your entry cannot be deleted from the Contest.

All entries must be submitted by 5 PM, Eastern Time, on Friday, February 27, 2009. Voting for the Contest (as described in “How the Voting Works,” below) ends at midnight, Eastern Time, on Friday March 6, 2009.
