2009 Poetry Contest
The Merrimack Public Library is now accepting entries to its Eighth Annual Poetry Contest! View and print your own copy of the 2009 entry form. Poets of all ages are welcome to pariticpate. Entry deadline is Friday, March 27, 2009.
A panel of judges are given anonymous copies of each poem so that their evaluation is impartial. Winning poems will be selected by a panel of judges and awarded on Thursday, April 23 at 6:30pm. Participants are invited to read from their work at this Awards Night. Some of the poems will be published in a booklet that will be distributed at this event.
Twelve different prizes will be awarded:

2009 Poetry Contest Entry Guidelines
1. Up to three unpublished, original poems may be submitted.
2. To be considered in the Teen and Youth categories, entrants must include their age on the entry form.
3. Each poem must be typed or word processed, and submitted in English.
4. Submit two copies of each poem; one with the poet’s name and one without.
5. Submissions will not be returned; poets should retain copies of their work.
6. All entries must be received no later than March 27, 2009.
7. Entrants are eligible to win one prize only.
8. Poems must be accompanied by an entry form and sent or delivered to the following address: Janet Angus, Director, Merrimack Public Library, 470 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH 03054

2009 Poetry Contest
The OnceWritten.com no-limits Poetry Contest. We’re looking for great poems by new voices, and although we are open to everyone, this the perfect contest for new and emerging poets.
We don’t have limits on page or word count, just send us your very best. The reading fee includes a submission of up to three poems. Want to enter three more? You’ll have to enter twice.
